Japanese Holly Bonsai Is About Ready To Flower
Flower Buds About To Burst
Just over a week after I received my Japanese Holly from All Things Bonsai, the little flower buds are about ready to burst, it’s only a matter of days until this little bonsai is covered in tiny white flowers. In the next image, you can see the little buds are swollen and the green tips are almost white.
More Work To Do After Flowering
Once the Japanese Holly is covered in flowers, I’ll put up another post. In the meantime, you might have picked up that, on the trunk, there are a couple of wire marks leftover from shaping the bonsai into it’s classic ‘S’ shape. Most of the marks are superficial, and it really seems to be more rust staining than anything else. I’m assured by Adam of All Things Bonsai that the stains will soon clean off, and can be sped up with a little, very gentle, scrubbing with an old toothbrush.
Once again, Adam at All Things Bonsai has been very helpful and generous with his advice.
