WordPress has become ubiquitous in the world of open source Content Management Systems (CMS). The ease of use for content editors and the extensive API for developers has made this the most popular CMS in the world today.
I started working with WordPress Themes about 5 years ago and, during that time, I’ve built up a number of “Theme Skeletons” from which I can build new, bespoke themes. These “Theme Skeletons” are very much a starting point, but I’ve now included them in my Github repository and made them available for anyone to use.
Basic Theme

The Basic theme is very much a starting point from which to build more complex themes. That said, it’s a very clean and simple theme that lends itself to a clear layout. This theme is free to use and is available on my Github library.
